GEMSTONE ENERGY
Crystals and gemstones have for thousands of years been revered by many cultures for their ability to store, regulate and transmit energy. They have been and still are used in many contexts; from small electrical devices to early submarine technology and of course, in energy healing practices. Even the tiny microchips that control the most powerful of computers to our credit cards are made of the same stuff as these stones.
Modern science discovered and applied the energy properties of crystals many years ago, leading to important practical developments. In 1880, Jacques and Pierre Curie discovered the ability of some materials to generate an electric potential. This led to the development of quartz oscillators, which went on to be used in a myriad of devices such as watches, radios, computers and small electronics. Quartz, the most of crystals, vibrates on a precise frequency, and in doing so ensures the precise the movement of the oscillator to keep accurate time in these devices.
Tourmaline, usually a deep blue/green gemstones was used for its electrical potential in submarine technology during the second world war. If we consider that the human body is mostly carbon and water, mobilised by energy fields and tiny electrical impulses, perhaps then it doesn’t take a great leap of faith to see how crystals can be used to balance the frequencies of our bio-magnetic energy channels.
Most energy healing practices, such as Reiki and Acupuncture, are based on balancing and repairing the flow of energy throughout these channels and which affect our physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual state.
Quartz forms the basis of most crystals and gemstones. Amber and Jet are the only two to originate directly from once living matter, in both respects, Trees. Each crystal form has its own ‘frequency’ – much like the different channels on a transistor radio – and each tuning in to a different aspect of the physical body and emotional, intellectual and spiritual states.
